Finished in August 2019 this derelict barn has been transformed into a modern styled holiday home but still incorporating the traditional characters. The first stage of this job was to reinforce the footings and subfloor using metal mesh inside a concrete base, once dry we then made the building water tight by repairing the broken roof and putting a few coats of 'black jack' on the sub floor and walls, we then installed the double glazed timber windows and doors supplied by Dale Joinery which we really think finished the property from the outside. The next stages were simple, build the internal stud walls, insulate the floors, walls and roof space, plasterboard and plaster to all areas of the barn. We then installed new skirting, architrave and doors all ready for painting which included making the old beams look new again which are obviously a big feature of this job.
We couldn't be happier with the overall finish and neither could the customer hence why he used us to transform the other barn a year later.
