This big rear extension in the village of Hassocks was completed in 1029, when we took this job on the house looked dated and was in need of modernisation, it was the same for inside of the house. This job for was designed by our in-house architecture team and think the design suits this house perfectly and it achieves everything the customer was after. Starting from the ground up it was a simple build using the 'thin joint' block work system, this is a specialist bricklaying skill which can go up quicker compared to the traditional block work due to its drying time, giving it that advantage. The traditional cut and pitch roof is split into to halves with a small flat roof making it not look so bulky and a more fitting style to the house and area, we used plain roof tiles to match the existing. The Larch cladding which has been used on the upper part of the house, fitted vertically works great with the combination of render on the bottom which will age well together. After showing the inside some 'TLC' we also fitted a new kitchen and utility supplied by Howdens with a quartz stone worktop and a new Herringbone floor supplied by others. The overall design and finish left us with another very happy client who was able to move back home within their timescale of a rental property and couldn't be happier.
